Cody Hunsicker

Cody Hunsicker will begin her first on field season with the New Haven field hockey team in 2021 after joining the program as a graduate assistant coach prior to the 2020 season being cancelled due to the CoVID-19 pandemic.

The Myerstown, Pa. native comes to New Haven after serving two years as an assistant coach at Washington College where she landed following graduation from Division I Lafayette. At Washington, Hunsicker led the defensive unit, as well as playing a big role in team practice organization, player development, recruiting, and team travel operations.  While at Washington, Hunsicker also coached for Spark Field Hockey Club in Gambrills, Md. and the USA Field Hockey Futures Program in Dover, Del.

Hunsicker enjoyed a successful four-year career with the Leopards, garnering All-Patriot League second-team honors as a senior in 2017, when she also served as a team captain. She was also a three-year starter and participated in the 2017 Young Women’s National Championship and was a 2017 New Jersey High Performance Center Training athlete. She participated in Lafayette’s Oaks Leadership Academy for three years and was named a 2018 Oaks Leadership Academy Leader of Distinction. 

While at Lafayette, Hunsicker worked as a field hockey instructor for the Lafayette College Field Hockey Camp and Lafayette College Field Hockey Clinics. She has also served as a volunteer field hockey instructor at Tulpehocken High School in Bernville, Pa.

Hunsicker received a Bachelor of Art in Biology with minors in Anthropology and Sociology from Lafayette in May 2018.
