The 2012 campaign was a standout season for the Chargers’ receiving corps as a part of one of the top scoring offenses in the nation. Most notably, Jason Thompson hauled in 16 touchdowns en route to All-America honors and was later signed as a free agent by the Washington Redskins.

Most recently the defensive coordinator at Woodland regional High School in Beacon Falls, Conn., Schultz brings an extensive background in football and strength and conditioning to New Haven.

During a six-year stint at Woodland, Shultz served as the defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach and running backs coach. During his tenure, he was twice named the assistant coach for the New Haven County All-Star Team.

In addition to his football coaching experience, Schultz has been a personal trainer at Custom Built Personal Training in Wallingford, Conn. and a strength and conditioning coordinator at Woodland Regional.
