Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson enters his fourth season with the Chargers as the quarterbacks coach in 2012. This season he will also begin his second season as offensive coordinator. During his tenure, Anderson has coached one of the top passers in the Northeast-10 Conference, and one of the program’s most decorated passers, Ryan Osiecki.

Anderson has coached an All-American selection in 2011 and the New England Gold Helmet Award winner. During his tenure, UNH passing records have fallen each season. The team ranked second in all of NCAA Division II last season in passing effiency, with an amazing 176.32.

Anderson came to New Haven following a storied coaching career at Woodland High School in Beacon Falls, Conn. As the program’s inaugural head coach, Anderson led Woodland to back-to-back Connecticut Class SS State Championships (2004-05) and Naugatuck Valley League Championships (2004-05). In 2004, the team went undefeated and was ranked No. 6 in the state in the writers’ and coaches’ poll. The Hawks won 22-straight games between 2004 and 2005. Anderson was named New Haven Register Football Coach of the Year in 2004 and Waterbury Olympia Club Football Coach of the Year in 2005.

Prior to Woodland High School, Anderson served as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Shelton High School. Shelton was the Connecticut Class LL State Champions in 2000, while Anderson’s offense averaged 35 points per game that season. Anderson mentored current Houston Texas quarterback Dan Orlovsky during his tenure at Shelton.

Anderson is currently a physical education and health teacher at Woodland High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science, Physical Education and Masters of Science, Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University.
