Cole Richter joined the University of New Haven Athletics Department as an operations intern with the football program in January 2021 and served three seasons as the Director of Football Operations. He currently serves as the Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations.

As Deputy Athletics Director, Richter oversees all game day operations, athletic facilities, and strategic communications within the athletic department. In addition to his external-facing responsibilities, Richter plays an integral role in the planning and executing of key department events, including the Hall of Fame, homecoming weekend, the annual athletics department golf tournament, and strategic planning of home football game days.

During his time as Director of Football Operations, Richter collaborated closely with Head Coach Chris Pincince, overseeing key aspects integral to the program's success, including team administration, travel logistics, staff calendars, equipment, team scheduling, and facility bookings. He also acted as the liaison to the Department of Athletics and managed video operations and student support staff focused on football operations and recruiting.

Richter's journey in collegiate athletics began with his position at New Haven after transitioning from his role as a Project Manager for Business Analytics at Werner Enterprises in Omaha, NE. While at Werner, he was responsible for reviewing project requests and defining project scope, resources, and implementation plans within a set budget.

Richter earned his Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of New Haven in May 2021 and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in May 2018.
