Hugh Villacis

Hugh Villacis enters his fourth season with the Charger football coaching staff and will continue to coach the tight ends in 2013.
 
An instrumental football mind in one of Division II’s top offenses, Villacis mentored tight end Kameel Lashley to First Team All-Northeast-10 honors in both 2011 and 2012.
 
Villacis previously served 20 seasons as an assistant at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. Villacis spent the 14 years at Wesleyan as the Cardinals’ offensive line coach after six seasons handling the defensive line.
 
In 2002, Villacis received national recognition as the AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Earning his degree at Western Connecticut State University in 1989, where he started on the defensive line, Villacis had been an assistant football coach at Torrington, Platt (Meriden) and Bristol Central High Schools in Connecticut before joining the Wesleyan staff. Villacis is employed by the Middletown school system.
