Mike Day enters his fourth year with New Haven Football and his first as the Special Teams Coordinator and Safeties Coach.
A coaching veteran, Day made an impact at SUNY Maritime in 2017 as the defensive backs coach. There, helped Maritime to a 9-2 record, an appearance in the 2017 New England Bowl, and guided two players to All-Conference honors.
At Nassau Community College from 2018-2020, where he worked with the wide receivers and cornerbacks, Day helped the Lions to the 2018 Red Grange Bowl championship, where they finished the year ranked 20th in hte NJCAA rankings. He also worked with WR Rashad Tucker, an honorable mention All-American.
At the University of New Haven, where, in his first stint with the program, Day coached the outside linebackers from 2021-2022, before coming back to New Haven in July 2024 as the nickels coach. Following the 2024 season, Day was promoted to Special Teams Coordinator and Safeties Coach. Day and the program have collected three playoff appearances and two conference championships since 2021.
Day holds a bachelor's degree in sport management from Sacred Heart (2016) and a master's degree in sport management from New Haven (2022).
