Ron DiGravio enters his third season with the Chargers as the running backs coach in 2011.
Last season, DiGravio helped coach one of the NE-10’s best rushing offenses and New Haven Gridiron Club Offensive Player of the Year Victor Jones. In his first season, DiGravio was New Haven’s wide receiver coach.
DiGravio came to the University of New Haven after coaching one season at King’s College (Pa.), where he coached the linebackers. DiGravio had an immediate impact in his first season with the Monachs, as two of his starting linebackers were named second-team All-MAC. He also recruited athletes from Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia while at King’s.
A 2008 graduate of Bates College, DiGravio was a four-year letterman, playing at the running back and linebacker positions. As a freshman, he rushed for a team-high 471 yards in eight games before moving to linebacker as a sophomore. There, he totaled 169 tackles in three seasons. In 2006, he was the Bobcats leading tackler and was presented with the Robert P. Schmidy Courage Award.
A native of Farmington, Maine, DiGravio played four-years at Mt. Blue High School. There he was a second-team All-State linebacker and first-team All-Conference utility player in 2002. DiGravio was also a semifinalist for the James F. Fitzpatrick Award – awarded to the top football player in the state of Maine.
DiGravio graduated from Bates with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and is currently pursing his Masters in Business Administration at New Haven.
