Rusty Dunne enters his third season as member of the Chargers coaching staff in 2019.
Since 1993, Dunne has worked as a physical education teacher and the head coach of the outdoor track and field program at East Haven High School. He previously served as the Easties’ head football coach from 1993-2002.
He was inducted into the East Haven Alumni Association Hall of Fame in the fall of 2019.
Prior to East Haven, Dunne served as the wide receivers coach at Milford Academy, coached receivers and defensive backs at Seymour High, and was an assistant at West Haven for 14 seasons from 2003-2016. He also coached in a number of capacities at Southern Connecticut State from 1982-1988 under future NFL assistant Kevin Gilbride, before heading to UConn as the defensive line and special teams coach until 1992.
A 1974 graduate of Notre Dame-West Haven and former student-athlete at Southern Connecticut State, Dunne currently resides in Madison.
