Stan Holmes

Stan Holmes is back for his second stint at the University of New Haven and will continue to serve as the Chargers’ Director of High School Relations in 2013.
 
Holmes previously spent one season as the Chargers running backs coach in 2009 and served as an assistant under Darren Rizzi at New Haven from 1999 to 2001.
 
Previously, Holmes served two terms as the running backs coach at Central Connecticut State from 1994-98 and from 2004-07. In 2006, Holmes coached Justice Harriston, the Blue Devils’ first student-athlete selected in the NFL Draft and the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing yards. While Holmes was at Central Connecticut State, the team won back-to-back NEC Championships in 2004 and 2005. During the 2003 season, he was an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut State.
 
A 1984 graduate of Cal State Hayward, Holmes started at running back for the Pioneers.
