A two-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection, Adkins returns to West Haven to begin his coaching career while pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration.
As a point guard for the Blue and Gold, the Piscataway, N.J. native closed out his career among the top-20 in program history with 1,308 points, including leading the team as a senior with 495, an average of 16.5 per game.
Adkins also led the team with 132 assists in his final campaign, 13th most in a single-season in program history. For his career, he dished out 400 helpers, third most at New Haven. Adkins is also 10th all-time in steals (133), 13th in free throw percentage (75.4%), 17th in field goal percentage (50.3%) and 19th in three-point field goals made (75).
In addition to earning All-Conference honors following his junior and senior seasons, Adkins was also named to the Northeast-10 All-Championship team as a senior after leading the Blue and Gold to the NE-10 Championship title game. A two-time captain, he led the Chargers to the NCAA Championship in his final two years, including a first round victory over Dominican in 2013, the first NCAA tournament win in 10 years.
