Jon Weiner enters his second season as an assistant coach for the men's basketball. Weiner has several years of coaching experience at the college level, including his most recent stint with a Division I program.

Prior to coming to UNH, Weiner served as the assistant coach for the Lehigh University basketball program from 2007-10. In three seasons with the team, he handled recruiting, organizing practices and game-day operations for the Mountain Hawks. Two student-athletes that Weiner recruited were awarded Patriot League honors.

Weiner went to South Bethlehem following a very successful two-year stint at Quinsigamond Community College where he won the 2007 Massachusetts State and Region 21 regular season and postseason titles. Weiner was named the 2007 District 8 Coach of the Year and he led Quinsigamond to a 28-7 record, which more than tripled the previous season’s win total and set the school record for victories.

Prior to his time at Quinsigamond, Weiner was the top assistant coach under the tutelage of Scott Dion at Becker College in Leicester, Massachusetts. His duties at Becker included recruiting, coordinating practice and helping coordinate a tutoring program for a local middle school.

In addition to his coaching duties, Weiner is a third grade teacher in New Haven. Weiner graduated from Clark University in 2003 and then earned his master’s degree in education at Clark in the following year.
