Tommy Hunt joined the Chargers men’s basketball coaching staff prior to the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant.

In his first season on the coaching staff in 2018-19, Hunt helped lead the Chargers to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Game and the semifinal round of the NCAA East Region Championship. He assisted the head coach with day-to-day operations, organizing practice and game strategies, as well as monitoring student-athlete success and progress. The Chargers won 21 games, matching the most for the program in 31 years.

During the summer of 2019, Hunt worked as a Finance and Business Management Intern for The Coca-Cola Company in Providence, R.I. where he partnered with sales representatives to execute company strategy, and helped to forecast profitability and operating results for the company’s Providence facility.

In 2018, Hunt shadowed officers and helped with case filings as an intern with the New Haven Police Department.

A four-year member of the Chargers basketball team, Hunt appeared in 106 games over his career and scored 529 career points from 2014-2018. He represented the team on the department's Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Hunt graduated from New Haven with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice; investigative services in May 2018. He is currently pursuing his MBA with a concentration in management finance.
