Max Rothenbuecher recently completed his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Chargers in 2019. Rothenbuecher came to New Haven after a four-year playing career at Quinnipiac.
A two-time MAAC All-Academic selection, the midfielder scored five goals and totaled 10 assists over 61 games (54 starts) from 2014 through 2017. As a senior in 2017, Rothenbuecher led the Bobcats with five assists and totaled nine points on the season. As a sophomore, he netted the game-winning goal in the MAAC Tournament against Canisius, and helped lead the team to the MAAC regular season title as a freshman in 2014.
