Michael Wnek

Michael Wnek joined the Chargers’ staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2007, after graduating from UNH with Master’s degree in marketing in the spring of ‘07. Wnek played defense for the Chargers as a graduate student in 2006, when the team advanced to the East Coast Conference Championship match.

Wnek came to UNH after graduating from Saint Michael’s College, where he played in 48 matches over three seasons from 2002-2004. A graduate of Guilford High School, Wnek was a member of the Connecticut Class LL State Championship team as a junior, helping the team to a 21-1-1 record.

The Guilford, Conn. native obtained his USSF “D” License, and has served as U-10 Boys Head Coach for the Soccer Club of Guilford from 2002-2006. In all he has been coaching on the U-10 to U-14 levels since 2001. Michael also served an internship with the Fairfield University women’s soccer coaching staff, and is certified as a USSF referee.

Michael is the son of Mary and Robert Wnek. His father is the Chairman of the Accounting Department at UNH and a professor of Tax and Business Law.
