Nick Duque joins the Chargers’ coaching staff this season as a graduate assistant. He is currently pursueing his master’s degree at UNH.
Duque, a 2008 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, boasts three years of coaching and over 10 years of playing experience on his resume.
He was a member of the SCSU men’s soccer team for four seasons (2004-07) and was part of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championship team. In 2006 the Owls also qualified for the NCAA Division II Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals.
The past two year’s Duque has been a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, Naugatuck High School. A four-year champion during high school, he was named to the First Team All-NVL in the fall of 2003. Prior to assisting at NHS, Duque served as a coach for the Naugatuck Youth Soccer League.
Duque was also a member of the 2002-03 Connecticut ODP team and the South Central Premier Club from 1997–04.
