A three-year member of the Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team, Tommy Mattera joined the University of New Haven coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in 2010.
Also a member of the Connecticut ODP State coaching staff and an assistant coach for the Norwalk U19 and U17 boys teams, Mattera spent four years coaching prior to his arrival at UNH.
Mattera has his USSF National D License as well as his USSF National Youth License.
As a member of the Owls soccer program, Mattera was a member of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championship team as well as the 2006 NCAA Division II Quarterfinal team and the East Region Champions. Mattera scored the game winning goal for the Owls in 2006 when they defeated Dominican College in the NCAA Regional Semifinal.
Mattera was also a six year stater for the Connecticut ODP team and a U17 team captain.
A 2005 graduate of Norwalk High School, Mattera is currently completing his degree at Southern Connecticut State.
