A former Olympian and NCAA national champion sprinter, Jurgen Themen recently completed his second season as a graduate assistant with the Chargers in 2019-20.
Themen represented Suriname in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games in the 100m dash. While at Division II powerhouse Adams State, Themen was a five-time national championship qualifier, culminating with the national championship title in the 100m dash at the 2016 Division II National Championships. He also placed fourth in the 60m dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2016, and was fourth in the 100m at the 2015 outdoor championships to earn All-America honors.
