A member of the University of New Haven sports medicine staff since the summer of 2012, Jon Dale is directly responsible for the Chargers’ women’s soccer, women’s basketball and baseball teams.
Dale came to New Haven from the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, most notably traveling with the Pointers’ baseball squad to back-to-back NJCAA Division II College World Series during his three years in Groton. During this time, Dale was also the Athletic Trainer for the Mystic Schooners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Prior to joining the staff at Avery Point, Dale worked in professional hockey in both the ECHL and AHL. He has served on the staffs of the Elmira Jackals, Reading Royals and Hartford Wolf Pack
Dale began his career at the United States Military Academy, serving as the Athletic Trainer for Club Sports. His responsibilities included working primarily with the rugby, power lifting, rowing and boxing teams along with the rest of the Club Sports programs. Dale also worked as a Research Assistant with the Keller Army Community Hospital Department of Orthopedics.
Dale earned a degree in Exercise Science from William Paterson University in 2006 and completed coursework for his Master’s degree in Exercise Science at East Stroudsburg University in 2007. He also holds certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Dale resides in Meriden with his wife Allison, son Brody and basset hounds Lucy and Franklin.
