Liz Brown

Liz Brown begins her first season as a member of the Women’s Basketball coaching staff at New Haven most recently coming from a stint playing professionally in Wuppertal, Germany. Prior, she was a four-year standout at Division I University of Richmond.
 
The only American on her team in Germany, Brown averaged 10 points and nine rebounds per game during the 2015-16 season with Barmer TV of the second division of the German Bundesliga. Off the court, she helped run and organize girl’s basketball practices and camps. 
 
In her collegiate career, the forward/center appeared in 110 games for the Spiders, making 87 starts. She concluded her career with 645 points, an average of 5.9 per game and a .430 FG percentage. A versatile player, Brown also pulled down 524 total rebounds, dished out 74 career assists and had 59 steals. With 119 career blocks, the fifth most of all time in the Richmond record books, Brown stopped 48 shots in sophomore season, good for second-all time in the Richmond record books for blocks in a single season.
 
As a freshman, Brown played in all 32 games, averaging 5.8 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game to land her a spot on the 2011-12 Atlantic-10 All-Rookie team.
 
After graduating from Richmond in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Leadership Studies, she served as an operations intern for Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman with the Nancy Lieberman Charities.
 
A native of Baltimore, Md., Brown is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sport Management at the University of New Haven.
