Steve Bower recently completed his third season on the Charger sidelines in 2021-22 after a two-year stint with the men's basketball program at Catholic University where he served as operations director, video and recruiting coordinator and conducted individual player instruction.

Throughout his time in West Haven, Bower has helped pilot New Haven to 46 wins, including back-to-back 18-win seasons and three-straight appearances in the Northeast-10 Conference championships.

Following the 2019-20 season, the Chargers finished the year ninth in the nation in Division II in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 53.7 points per game. NE10 All-Rookie selection Aurora Deshaies led the conference in field goal pct. (.565), senior Micah Wormack earned Second Team All-NE10 honors, and Camryn DeBose was named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Team.

In his first season with the Chargers in 2018-19, Bower helped lead a turnaround of the women’s program, coaching the team to an 18-12 mark, a six-win improvement over the previous season. The Chargers turned in a road win in the NE10 quarterfinals at Stonehill to advance to the conference semifinals for the first time in three seasons. Bower also helped mentor Alexandria Kerr, a first-team all-conference honoree and three-time CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District selection.

During his first season at Catholic, Bower worked with the Cardinals' post players leading Jay Howard to earning First Team All-Landmark Conference accolades. This past season, he oversaw guard development, helping lead Andre Mitchell and Jimmy Golaszewski to Second Team All-Landmark honors.

Bower returns to the Constitution State after spending his undergraduate years at Sacred Heart University serving as a manager under head coach Dave Bike. With the Pioneers, he handled a variety of duties while earning his bachelor's degree in sports management and finance.

Following his graduation from Sacred Heart, Bower spent the 2013-14 season at Nichols College in Dudley, Mass. With the Bison, he helped contribute to the Nichols' then school-record 23 victories and run to the Commonwealth Coast Conference regular-season championship.

In addition to Nichols and Catholic, Bower also had a stop at Plymouth State University (N.H.) where during the 2015-16 season, the Panthers enjoyed their first winning season in six years.

In addition to his bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart, Bower also earned a Master's from Catholic University in May 2018 in Leadership Management.
