Nicole Belanger

Nicole Belanger ‘17 joined the New Haven coaching staff as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2019 season. The former Chargers midfielder enjoyed a standout four-year career at New Haven from 2014-2017, amassing 141 points over 75 career games.

Belanger earned Third Team IWLCA All-America honors in 2017, in addition to Second Team All-North Region and Third Team All NE10 honors. In total, she was a four-time all-conference and two-time all-region selection, and was honored as New Haven’s Female Rookie of the Year in 2014. She ranked third on the team while tallying a career-high 37 goals in 2016 and amassed a career-best 45 draw controls. Her play helped lead the Chargers to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons with the Blue and Gold.

At the time of her graduation, Belanger ranked 10th in program history with 121 career goals, 10th in free position goals (24) and eighth in draw controls (137).

A native of Kinnelon, N.J., Belanger graduated from New Haven in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned a master in clinical mental health counseling.
