Dan Bacon spent three seasons as the Chargers' head coach from 1999-2001, compiling an overall record of 21-32-1.

In 2000, the Chargers saw a positive turnaround under the tutelage of Bacon, and in doing so produced a mark of 9-8-1. With his arrival in 1999, Bacon brought a blend of youth and experience. During his time at UNH, the size of the squad also increased, as well as the diversity and geographical base of the players. With the Chargers winning five of the last six contests of 2000, they recorded their 70th win in only their eighth season of competition.

Bacon joined the Chargers' coaching staff after completing a successful career at Lock Haven, Pa. He starred with the Bald Eagles from 1994-97. While at Lock Haven, he was a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection. In addition to being the head coach for the Chargers, Bacon is also a director of coaching for Number One Camps, which runs girls and boys youth soccer camps throughout the country.

Bacon starred for the Grimsby Town Youth Football teams before attending Lock Haven in the fall of 1994. During his spell with the club, he also gained recognition on the international level by spending a season with the New England National School Team at the National Training Center. He played for Grimsby from 1992-1994.
