A four-year member of the Fairfield University men’s soccer team, Matthew Cleveland joined the University of New Haven coaching staff prior to the 2010 season. Cleveland is expected to assist head coach Laura Duncan with the team’s goalkeepers.
In addition to his collegiate playing experience, he has played for many premier soccer clubs across the state of Connecticut. The list includes, South Central Premier, Beachside Premier and Connecticut YPDP and ODP teams.
As a member of the Stags soccer program, Cleveland helped the squad to two NCAA Division I Tournament appearances and two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) titles.
A 2006 graduate of Shelton High School, Cleveland earned a goalkeeper All-State selection as a senior and graduated with honor roll status.
Cleveland completed Fairfield in May of 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Communications.
