Alison McCarthy was named Assistant Athletic Trainer/Head Football Athletic Trainer in July 2023 and works with the football and tennis programs.
McCarthy joins New Haven after serving two years as the Assistant Athletics Director of Sports Medicine at Pace University, her second stint at the school. There, she worked with the football, basketball, softball, and women's lacrosse programs as well as in the role of Athletics Healthcare Administrator. In her first stint, she worked with all 14 teams.Â
In between stints, she worked at Bentley University, primarily working with women's soccer, field hockey, swim/dive, and the softball teams.
A Massachusetts native, McCarthy graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, and then she went on to serve as an athletic training intern at Bryant University and as a graduate assistant at Villanova.
