Ariana Koivisto enters her second season as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach with the University of New Haven women’s basketball program, where she plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the program.
During her time with University of North Carolina Greensboro, Koivisto has contributed to a Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2024–25 season. In her role, she assists the coaching staff with practice planning, individual and group workouts, and scouting preparation, while also supporting recruiting visits and team operations. She works closely with the Director of Basketball Operations on travel coordination, meals, and logistics, and contributes to the program’s digital presence through social media and video content creation. Koivisto also handles game and practice breakdown using Hudl Sportscode.
In addition to her collegiate experience, Koivisto had served as the Head Coach for the Lady Breakers AAU program since 2020. In that role, she develops practice plans and game strategies while maintaining consistent communication with players and parents to foster development both on and off the court.
Koivisto also spent time as an assistant coach at Woodstock Academy, where she helped student-athletes balance academics and athletics while emphasizing accountability, fundamentals, and game understanding.
A native of Connecticut, Koivisto earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2023. She also holds a Master of Arts in Applied Arts and Sciences from UNC Greensboro.
