Conor Doherty enters his first full year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at University of New Haven. This comes after serving in a similar role at Elmira College for the majority of the 2024-25 academic year.
Doherty spent the 2023-24 year interning in the media relations department with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. There, he was primarily responsible for keeping stats in game, feature stories, recaps, website maintenance, and coordinating media availability between players, coaches, and media at practice and game days.Â
Before joining the Penguins, Doherty got his first experience in media relations by interning with the Philadelphia Rebels of the NAHL. In his initial sports experience, Doherty was responsible for updating the team's social media accounts, recaps, and keeping stats during the game.
Doherty graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in May of 2024 with degrees in Sport Management and English.Â
