Gary Erdelyi was hired as Media Relations Coordinator in April 2025. He joins the University of New Haven from Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., where he served as a Graduate Assistant in both Sports Information and Broadcast. In his new role, Erdelyi will be responsible for all aspects of Charger Athletics broadcasts on NEC Front Row.

Erdelyi brings a wealth of broadcast experience, having worked extensively in the New York and Philadelphia markets. He is best known for his work in the Ivy League and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), where he served as one of the play-by-play voices for Penn Quakers men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer, softball, and field hockey. He also worked as a sideline reporter for Penn football and basketball broadcasts on NBC Sports Philadelphia and ESPN+.

In the MAAC, Erdelyi has been a key voice for championship events, including play-by-play coverage of the MAAC Baseball Championships and the 2022 and 2024 MAAC Track and Field Championships. His broadcast experience also includes work with Princeton University (Ivy League on ESPN+), the University of Maryland, Saint Joseph’s University, and Wagner College.

Erdelyi earned his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership from Rider University in 2024. He previously completed his undergraduate studies at Rowan University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Radio, TV, and Film.

Originally from the Jersey Shore, Erdelyi grew up in Brick, N.J., and currently resides in West Haven, Conn.
