Tom Scerbo enters his fifth season on the New Haven Football coaching staff in 2026. A two-year linebacker for the Blue & Gold, Scerbo transitioned from playing to coaching following the 2021 season.
Scerbo currently serves as the linebackers coach and co-special teams coordinator, a role he has held since the spring of 2026. In this position, he oversees all aspects of the linebacker group, including position meetings, player development, practice planning and game-day coaching.
Previously, Scerbo served as a linebackers graduate assistant from January 2024 through the winter of 2026. In that role, he assisted with the development of the linebackers through individual instruction, film breakdown and position meetings.
Prior to becoming a graduate assistant, Scerbo spent two years as a student assistant, working directly with the linebackers. He prepared scouting reports and practice materials while also leading individual drills focused on fundamentals and technique.
Scerbo holds a B.S. in Sport Management and an M.B.A., both from the University of New Haven.
