On Defense the Chargers are lead by, former Hartford Courant Defensive Player of the Year, sophomore Raheem Stanley at nose guard. He will be surrounded by a good front seven and a talented group of defensive backs.

The Lions opened their season last weekend with a win over Cheyney University (Pa.) 41-20. The win was their first against a NCAA opponent since 1959, when they defeated Howard. Lincoln disbanded the football program following the 1960 season. Last season was their first season in football since 1960 and first as a Division II program. Lead by their defense the Lions forced five turnovers, three directly leading to touchdowns, and an explosive running game that racked up 223 yards rushing against the Wolves en route to the victory.
