Women Drop Non-Conference Contest at Felician

BOX SCORE RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The University of New Haven women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game 76-66 at Felician College Friday evening in the team's first contest following a long 20-day break. The Chargers dropped to 2-9 on the season, while Golden Falcons improved to 6-6 on the year.

Felician took the lead off the opening points and didn't look back the entire game. The Golden Falcons led by as many as 17 points with 11:24 left in the first half. UNH cut the lead back to single digits in the first half, but a 7-1 run for Felician gave them a 43-34 lead at the break. The Chargers struggled, shooting just 29-percent from the field in the first half, while the Golden Falcons connected on 43-percent of their shots.

In the second half, Felician improved it's lead to double digits again with the first basket of the half. The Golden Falcons led by at least 10 points for the entire second half and held on for a 10-point victory.

Four Chargers scored in double digits, including a team-high 16 points from freshman Bria Moore (West Haven, Conn./Hill Regional Career). She also led the team with nine total rebounds in the game. Anh-Dao Tran (Webster, Mass./Holy Name) added 13 points, while Nikitta Reddy and Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy) each added 11 points.

New Haven will return to action on Tuesday, January 3 at Stonehill College for it's first game of the 2012 season. Game time in Easton, Mass. is set for 5:30 p.m. Stay posted to www.NewHavenChargers.com for complete links to coverage.
