WOODBRIDGE, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's tennis team dropped its opening match of the 2011-12 season 9-0 Saturday afternoon to Adelphi University. The Chargers continue their opening weekend matches on Sunday with another home match against Saint Michael's College at 10 a.m.

In No. 2 singles Brianna Kraynak (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) scored a pair of points in her opening set. Also earning points in the match was Brianna Salamone (Peabody, Mass./Austin Preparatory) in No. 6 singels.

New Haven returns to action on Sunday, Septemt 18 when it hosts St. Michael's College at Amity High School.
