BOX SCORE GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The University of New Haven men's soccer team was on the short end of a 3-0 decision on Wednesday evening at Adelphi. The Chargers fall to 1-10-1 overall and 1-7-0 in the Northeast-10 after the loss.
Adelphi, which is in its first season in the Northeast-10 after reclassifying from Division I, moves to 8-4-0 on the season with a 7-3-0 conference mark.
James Pyatsky (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Garden City) turned away eight Panthers' shots – including a save on a penalty kick. New Haven was outshot, 19-9, and attempted one corner kick to Adelphi's seven. All three of the Chargers' shots on goal were saved by Adelphi's Sergio Reyes.
The Panther goals were scored by Alejandro Penzini (24'), Diego Zuniga (35') and Caelan Hueber (52').
Tonight's match was the final leg of a three-match road trip for the Chargers. Action returns to West Haven on Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. visit from Merrimack as a part of Homecoming Weekend.
