BOX SCORE OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – In a rematch of an NCAA Division II East Region Semifinal from last season, the University of New Haven women's volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision at the New York Institute of Technology on Wednesday night on Long Island.
Amber Cannady (Yonkers, N.Y./Charles E. Gorton) paced the Chargers with nine kills.

Following the non-conference outing, the Chargers stand at 4-2, while NYIT remains unbeaten at 3-0 in 2013 after taking the match by set scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-13.

Flanking Cannady in the middle was
Ashley Dalton (Helena, Mont./Capital / Northern Arizona University), who pounded seven kills.
Margo Meteyer (Madison, Wis./Madison West) added seven kills from the outside and
Meghan Kennelly (Detroit, Mich./Eisenhower) notched six finishers.
Kaulana Ane (Paia, Hawai'i/Kamehameha) and
Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) shared setting duties and finished with 14 and 13 assists, respectively.

Kea-Marie Olaso (Kailua, Hawai'i/Le Jardin Academy) had eight digs apiece, with Kennelly chipping in with five from the back row. At the net, Cannady had a hand in four of the Chargers' eight team blocks.

The Bears were led by nine kills apiece from Savannah Donarski and Katarina Sretenovic with eight finishers by Shelby Cable. Marija Jovanovic distributed a match-leading 32 assists for NYIT.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 with their Northeast-10 opener at Franklin Pierce. New Haven is back on the court at Charger Gymnasium on Friday, Sept. 27 against NE-10 foe Assumption.
