Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Chargers Edged at Franklin Pierce, 1-0

RINDGE, N.H. – A 68th-minute goal by Madison Finlay accounted for the only scoring as the University of New Haven women's soccer team fell, 1-0, at Franklin Pierce on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

With the loss, the Chargers fall to 4-7-1 on the season and 3-5-1 in the NE-10. The Ravens improve to 7-3-1 with a 5-3-1 conference tally.

Finlay's goal came on a rebound after Hannah Weagle's shot attempt was blocked by the New Haven defense. Finlay recorded her second marker of the fall, while Weagle's assist was her first.

Natasha Purchla (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) went the distance in goal and made eight saves. Casey Cook turned away the only New Haven shot on goal, which was attempted by Shannon Enright (Ashford, Conn./E.O. Smith), to record the clean sheet.

The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 when Adelphi visits Kayo Field for a 3:30 p.m. clash.
