Women's Tennis Suffers 5-4 Loss at Assumption

RESULTS

WORCESTER, Mass- The University of New Haven women's tennis team dropped a Northeast-10 Conference match 5-4 at Assumption Tuesday afternoon. Trailing 2-1 after the doubles competition, the Chargers battled back and evened the match at 3-3 before dropping two of the final three matchups.

With the loss, New Haven falls to 6-4 overall and 4-4 in conference play. The Greyhounds improve to 3-9 overall and 2-4 in conference action.

In doubles, Lindsey Conley (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury ) and Alexandra Sharshakov (Reisterstown, Md./Garrison Forest) paired for the Chargers only win, a 8-0 shutout in No. 2. Both also won their singles competition at Assumption. Sharshakov won 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles, while Conley defeated Kristen Carbone in No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1. New Haven's other victory came in No. 4 singles in a three-set battle, 4-6, 6-4, 11-9.

Later this week, New Haven travels to American International on Thursday, April 3 and then at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, April 5.
