WOODBRIDGE, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss Saturday afternoon to Assumption in a Northeast-10 Conference match played at Amity High School.

With the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-4 overall as well as in conference play. Assumption moves to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

The Chargers earned victories in No. 1 singels from Alexandra Sharshakov (Reisterstown, Md./Garrison Forest) who took a 7-5, 4-6 (10-8) win. Alexia Pettruziello and Angelica Pecci (Watertown, Conn./Holy Cross) also earned wins in No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Both won in straight sets, while Pecci needed the tie-break in the second.

The Chargers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 28 when they host Bentley in another NE-10 match, played at the Yale Tennis Center.
