Chargers Topped at Holy Family, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA – The University of New Haven men's soccer team was on the short end of a 2-0 decision on Sunday afternoon at Holy Family. With the loss, the Chargers fall to 0-2-0 on the young season.

The host Tigers improved to 1-1-0, fueled by goals from Keith Crews in the 25th minute and Aiah Mbriwa in the 48th. Justin Hitwine assisted on both Holy Family markers.

James Pyatsky (Stewart Manor, N.Y./Garden City) made three saves for the Blue and Gold, while Colin McFarlane (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) moved up from the back row to put two shots on goal.

New Haven outshot the Tigers, 11-10, but Holy Family goalkeeper Richard Ongaro turned away all five shots on goal to preserve the clean sheet.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 13 when Felician visits Kayo Field for a 2 p.m. contest. The non-conference outing will be broadcast in high definition and free of charge at NewHavenChargers.com.
