GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The University of New Haven men's basketball team made a season-high 11 three-pointers, but the Chargers were downed by the Adelphi Panthers 77-70 in a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division game on Tuesday night.

With the win, Adelphi moves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Chargers drop to 0-3 both overall and in NE-10 play.

Jemal Mosley (Spring Valley, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep / Putnam Science Academy) led the way for New Haven with 19 points.
Michael Bourke (South Orange, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton) added 15 with
Joshua Guddemi (Nottingham, England/Derby) chipping in with 10. Bourke and
Najee Larcher (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) led the team with five rebounds each

The first half was played from beyond the arc as the two teams combined to take 37 three-point attempts. After seeing Adelphi get out to a quick 9-3 lead, the Chargers found their stroke, going on a 14-1 run during a span of just more than four minutes to take a 17-10 lead. During the run, they went 6-for-8 from the floor including triples from Mosley and
Tommy Hunt (Smithfield, R.I./St. Andrew's). New Haven maintained the lead for the majority of the half before taking a 34-29 lead into halftime with Mosley scoring 15 points in the opening frame.

Adelphi rallied to open the second half as after the two teams played evenly for the first two minutes, the Panthers went on a 20-5 run including hitting on five three-pointers to open up a 51-41 lead. Undaunted, the Chargers went on an 11-3 spurt of their own with Bourke scoring all the points in the span, closing the gap to 54-52 with 7:46 remaining.

In a game of runs, the Panthers went an 11-0 rip of their own, taking a 68-55 lead with 2:35 to go. New Haven was able to sink a trio of treys down the stretch, closing the lead to seven points with 34 seconds left, but the Panthers held on in the waning seconds.

The Chargers are in action next on Friday, Nov. 27 when they travel to Dowling for a non-conference matchup in Oakdale, N.Y. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
