WEST HAVEN, Conn. –
Eric Anderson (Newark, N.J./Newark Tech) recorded his third game this season with at least 20 points and 20 rebounds and the University of New Haven men's basketball team shot better than 50 percent from the field as the Chargers won their second straight game, downing the Pace University Setters 64-49 in a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division matchup at Charger Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

Anderson finished the game with 20 points, 22 rebounds and five assists. It was the third time this year that he eclipsed 20 in both categories, matching his output against American International (25 points, 23 rebounds) on November 25 and Saint Anselm (26 points, 28 rebounds, 10 assists) on December 31. Â Anderson is the only player in NCAA Division II with more than one such game in 2014-15 and is the only player in the country with more than two games with 20 rebounds this season.
Jemal Mosley (Spring Valley, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep / Putnam Science Academy) led all scorers with 24 points, hitting 6-of-10 shots from three-point range, while

Samir McDaniels (Roxbury, Mass./New Mission) helped to facilitate the Chargers' attack with a career-high five assists.

The Setters cut the lead down to the six on a jumper by Jaylen Mann before the Blue and Gold closed the half on a layup by Anderson and then a steal and a layup by Mosley pushed the lead back to 10 going into halftime.
In the second half, New Haven extended the lead to 13 on a triple by
Jayson Cethoute (East Elmhurst, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) at the 11:54 mark, but Pace responded as back-to-back-three-pointers by Kyle Pearson sliced the lead to seven. The Chargers remained on top by seven at 48-41 after a pair of Setters' free throws before closing the game on a 16-4 run to cement the final score.
For the contest, New Haven shot 54.8 percent (23-for-42) and hit 10-for-19 from three-point range.
The Chargers now travel for their final road game of the regular season with a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division battle at American International in Springfield, Mass. on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m.
