Women's Tennis Falls to Holy Cross in Season Finale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's tennis team concluded its 2014-15 season on Saturday in a 9-0 loss to NCAA Division I opponent the College of the Holy Cross. 

New Haven finishes its season at 3-13 overall and 3-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Crusaders improve to 6-9 overall and head into the Patriot League tournament.

In No. 1 doubles, Alexandra Sharshakov (Reisterstown, Md./Garrison Forest) and Lindsey Conley (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury ) nearly pulled off the victory with a score of 9-7. Sharshakov also played well in No. 1 singles, winning the first set 6-4, but falling in the third and deciding set 10-4. Conley and Alexia Petruzziello (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) also played well in No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, with 6-4, 6-2 defeats.
