BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – The University of New Haven softball team fell 5-0 to the Pace University Setters in a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division contest on Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, Pace is now 19-13 overall with an 11-7 record in both conference and divisional play. New Haven falls to 13-15-1, is 9-8 in the NE-10 and is 7-8 in the Southwest Division.

After Pace scored the initial run of the game in the bottom of the first inning, the Chargers threatened in the third. With two out,
Jen Palase (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) tripled down the rightfield line.
Tori Schiebe (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) came up next and drove a ball to deep centerfield that was tracked down for the final out of the inning. The Setters then plated three in the bottom of the third and one in the fourth to round out the scoring for the game.

New Haven returns to action on Thursday, April 23 when it travels to LIU Post for a non-conference matchup beginning at 5:00 p.m.
