Men's Basketball Drops 76-50 Home Decision to Bentley

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven men's basketball team dropped a 76-50 decision to the visiting Bentley Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers were led by junior Jemal Mosley (Spring Valley, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep / Putnam Science Academy) who finished with 14 points, his ninth game, in nine games played, in doubles figures.

With the loss, New Haven falls to 4-10 overall and 1-7 in the Northaeast-10, while the Falcons improve to 10-3 on the year and 7-1 in the league.

Joining Mosley in leading the New Haven scoring line was senior Joshua Guddemi (Nottingham, England/Derby) who finished with 11 points, his fourth game of the season in double figures. Guddemi led the Chargers individual shooting efforts, missing just one of his five field goal attempts, while making both of his attempts from beyond the three point arc. The two three pointers for the Nottingham, England native ties his career-high which he has achieved three times.

Mosley finished the afternoon contest shooting 6-of-14 overall, including a pair of three pointers. With those two long range buckets, Mosley now has 126 for his career and is now two shy of knocking Darryl Greene (2006-10) from the all-time three pointers made list.

As a team, New Haven finished the game shooting 42 percent on 21-of-50 overall with five of those 21 field goals from beyond the three point arc. The Chargers also finished a perfect 3-of-3 at the free throw line as the two teams combined to finish perfect at the line, a total of 6-for-6.

New Haven's best shooting came in the opening half when they finished just over 50 percent on 14-of-27, including four three pointers. In that opening half, Mosley finished 5-of-8 from the field, while Guddemi was perfect in his three field goal attempts.

The Chargers will play the next two games on the road with dates at Stonehill and Assumption next on the docket. First up will be a visit to Merkert Gym in North Easton Mass to meet the Stonehill Skyhawks.
