PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The University of New Haven women's soccer team battled closely against the Pace University Setters in a Northeast-10 Conference match for 80 minutes before a pair of late goals allowed Pace to upend the Chargers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. New Haven is now 5-10-1 on the season overall and 2-9-1 in the NE-10.
Scoreless into the 23rd minute, Alyssa Zeoli broke the draw with her sixth goal of the season, coming off a cross from the left side. From there,
Deandra Nash (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) kept the Chargers in the match, making four saves in the frame.
The match remained 1-0 into the late stages with Nash making six saves in the second half to keep New Haven close. With just over seven minutes remaining, Delany Williams collected a ball off a rebound and was able to sneak it by Nash to make it 2-0. With one minute left, Zeoli netted her second marker of the contest to cement the final score.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they host Saint Rose for Senior Day in a Northeast-10 Conference match. Kickoff at Kayo Field is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
