WILMINGTON, Del. – The University of New Haven women's basketball team played its last game before an extended break for finals as the Chargers fell to the Goldey-Beacom Lightning in a non-conference conetst 62-43 on Monday night. New Haven is now 1-9 on the season.
GAME NOTES:
- Allieyah Cubbage (North Plainfield, N.J./Roselle Catholic) led the Chargers with 17 points. She also had 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
- Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) set career-highs with seven blocked shots and 15 rebounds. It is the most blocks for a New Haven player since Aquillin Hayes had seven against Le Moyne on Nov. 19, 2014.
- The Blue and Gold got strong contributions off the bench from underclassmen. Kim Talley (Quakertown, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and Aliyah Christy (Stratford, Conn./King Low Heywood Thomas) had six points each while Oluwaseun Shittu (Johnston, R.I./Saint Raphael Academy) netted four.
- Katia Oge (New City, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Academy) had two blocks marking the 18th straight game she has turned aside an opponent's shot.
