WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Allieyah Cubbage (North Plainfield, N.J./Roselle Catholic) recorded her first career double-double, but the University of New Haven women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker, 56-53 in a Northeast-10 Conference game to the Pace Setters on Sunday afternoon. The Chargers are now 1-6 on the season and 1-4 in the NE10.
GAME NOTES:
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Cubbage had 13 points to go along with a career-high 11 rebounds. Her previous personal best in boards came earlier this year with seven against Saint Rose.
- Â Â Â Â Â Alexandria Kerr (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) also finished in double figures with 11 points. She also had a season-high five assists.
- Â Â Â Â Â Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) had seven points, eight rebounds and tied a career-high with four blocks.
- Â Â Â Â Â Katia Oge (New City, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Academy) recorded a personal best with four blocks, extending her streak to 15 consecutive games with a rejection.
- Â Â Â Â Â As a team, the Chargers blocked nine shots.
- Â Â Â Â Â After leading for most of the contest, New Haven found itself down 53-50 with 26 seconds remaining when Shannon Corridon (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) came off the bench and hit her only shot of the day, a three-pointer in the left corner to knot the game at 53-53. Pace was fouled on the next possession and hit a trio of free throws in the final 10 seconds to cement the final score.
