WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Erica Silhan (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) and George Murray II (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) have been named the NewHavenChargers.com Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending on 
February 7, 2016.  NewHavenChargers.com selects Student-Athletes of the Week every Monday throughout the year.

Silhan set a New Haven record and recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with her leap of 1.65 meters in the high jump at the Giegengack Invitational held at Yale this past weekend. It is the first time this season she is receiving Student-Athlete of the Week honors. 

The women's track & field team returns to action on Friday, Feb. 12 when it travels to Boston for the BU Valentine Invitational. 

Murray won both the triple jump and long jump at the Giegengack Invitational this weekend. His leap of 14.47 meters in the triple jump was an NCAA provisional mark and beat his nearest opponent by more than seven-tenths of a meter. It is the third time this season he is receiving Student-Athlete of the Week honors. 

The men's track & field team returns to action on Friday, Feb. 12 when it travels to Boston for the BU Valentine Invitational.
