No. 9 Women's Lacrosse Scores Come from Behind Victory Against Pace

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 9 University of New Haven women's lacrosse tam scored the final three goals of the match as the Chargers won their second straight Northeast-10 Conference game, downing the Pace Setters 12-10 on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, New Haven is 10-4 with an 8-2 record in conference.

Key Players:
  • Alicia Busco (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) scored a career-high four goals and also scooped up two ground balls.
  • Caitlin O'Brien (Branford, Conn./Branford) recorded a hat trick and added two assists to lead the Chargers with five points.
  • Jessica Mazliah (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) had a goal and three assists.
  • Corinne Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) had a solid overall game, scoring a goal, picking up four ground balls, winning three draw controls and causing two turnovers.
 
How it Happened:
  • The two teams played a back and forth first half as neither team held more than a two goal edge with New Haven taking a 7-6 lead into the break.
  • In the second half, Pace scored the first two goals to go up 8-7.
  • New Haven tied the game at 9-9 on a goal by Busco with 16:30 remaining.
  • The Setters took a 10-9 lead at the 15:59 mark. It would be the last goal they scored in the game.
  • New Haven found the back of the net for the final three goals, two by Busco and one by O'Brien to take the lead for good with 7:59 remaining.
