WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match to the Bentley University Falcons on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference tilt. With the loss, the Chargers are now 4-3-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play.
New Haven began the match strong, outshooting Bentley 5-1 in the first 21 minutes forcing the Falcons keeper to make three saves. The Chargers had arguably their best chance of the half with under a minute remaining as an

Sierra Stein (Sherman, Conn./Immaculate) corner kick was blocked.
Play was evenly matched at the start of the second half as there were only three combined shots in the first 25 minutes. Bentley broke the scoreless tie in the 75th minute when Ana Tantum dribbled to the endline and beat the keeper to the short side. Just four minutes later, Alyssa Valente found the back of the net to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead that would hold for the final score. Â
In her first career start,
Kyra Wolonsavich (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) faced six shots on goal, making four saves.
New Haven returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 28 as the Chargers travel to Rindge, N.H. to take on the Franklin Pierce University Ravens in an NE-10 matchup beginning at 4:00 p.m.
