WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the final 40 minutes and Stefano Lorusso (Auckland, New Zealand/Sacred Heart College) delivered his second straight clean sheet as the Chargers downed the Felician Golden Falcons 2-0 at Kayo Field on Sunday afternoon. With the win, New Haven is now 2-0-0.Â

How it Happened
·        Lorusso kept the match scoreless midway through the first half, making a diving save off a shot by Kenny Monfort.
·       The Blue and Gold cracked the scoreboard just more than five minutes into the second half when Poirier knocked home a header off a perfect feed from Nate Peduzzi (Old Lyme, Conn./Lyme-Old Lyme) for his second goal of the season.
·        New Haven put the game away in the 84th minute when Cam Twombley collected a loose ball in the box and sent it into the lower left corner for his first collegiate goal.Â
Turning Point
·        After the two teams played evenly in the first half, the Chargers took charge in the second frame with Poirier's goal proving to be the difference.
