WORCESTER, Mass. - The University of New Haven women's tennis team dropped a tough match at Assumption College on Wednesday, falling to the Greyhounds, 8-1 in Northeast-10 conference action.
Freshman
Stephanie Gonzalez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) earned the lone win for the Chargers at No. 1 singles, earning a victory in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-4. With the singles win, Gonzalez improves her singles record to 8-5 in the No. 1 spot. Junior
Caitlyn Burridge (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) fought tough at No. 3 singles, falling 6-4 in the first set before also dropping the second set.
The Chargers return to the courts on Friday, October 13
th for their final NE10 match of the season against Saint Rose. First serve at the New Haven Tennis Courts is slated for 3:00 pm.
